Northern Ireland Electricity Networks branch reps Rory Lynch, Harry Lloyd, Alan Davidson, Richard Willey and Sam Whiteside put together events in three locations and managed a 17% growth in membership.
The events also gave Prospect the chance to speak to existing members, and have given a fresh impetus to the work we do. More events are scheduled for the new year to improve and build engagement, and it is hoped the success will help grow the branch further in coming months.
New reps are also on board. Ciaran Maginn and Andrew Sharkey have just completed NI-based training and are ready to act on behalf on members.
The recruitment success and fresh interest from activists has boosted the branch after a recent difficult period of redundancy and a tough pay bargaining context.
Angela Moffatt, NI Negotiations Officer said ‘The work of Harry, Rory, Alan, Sam and Richard over the 3 days was amazing, and they exceeded their own expectations. However, their own dedicated and lengthy service as reps produced this result. We’re committed to moving onwards and delivering for members.’
