AWE workers ballot on new offer

Members at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) in Berkshire are voting on a new offer from management for 2010 pay.

The branch has recommended acceptance. The offer is worth 2.5 per cent overall. The new money available ensures a more even distribution of the award. Even the lowest individual award will average 1 per cent.

The ballot of members has already begun and will close on December 13. If accepted, the award will be paid in January’s salaries. Both sides have agreed to address industrial relations issues. A review of AWE‘s pay system will also be undertaken.
