TUC day of action, 30 November

Today (Wednesday) the TUC has agreed to call a day of action across the public sector on 30 November. Prospect is supporting this decision, subject to endorsement by its executive, in view of the lack of progress in our current talks with the government.

This will be discussed in detail at the September meeting of Prospect's civil service sector executive.

The union's National Executive Committee has already given contingent authority to ballot members in the civil service and related areas on strike action and action short of a strike.

A circular will be sent to civil service and related branches on 15 September.
