Prospect challenges McNulty on rail regulation

Sir Roy McNulty's proposals on rail regulation will have a negative impact on frontline rail workers, Prospect has warned.

The impact on rail workers could result in thousands of job losses, from train guards to safety inspectors.

The McNulty recommendations to government were set out in a document called 'Realising the potential of GB Rail'. The government's official response is awaited.

Prospect is concerned that the proposals will lead to a weakening of the health and safety inspectorate's role within the rail industry, and has called on the government to reject this.
