HSE launches long-awaited CDM consultation

The Health & Safety Executive announced its 10 week consultation on proposals to amend the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007



The long-awaited public consultation on the replacement of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 has been launched providing 10 weeks for people to have their say.

The consultation seeks views on a range of proposals. But likely to be of greatest interest to Prospect members, particularly those who are H&S Practitioners, are:

- replacement of the CDM co-ordinator role with the role of principal designer
- removal of explicit competence requirements; and
- removal of the domestic client exemption.
