Prospect pledges to defend National Trust for Scotland jobs

Prospect, the union representing hundreds of specialists at NTS, has called for members to be treated “fairly and decently” after the conservation charity announced an organisational overhaul.

The reorganisation aims to cuts costs by around 10% and to simplify the management structure.

“Prospect will do everything possible to defend employment levels at the trust,” said Prospect negotiator Ian Perth.

“NTS has committed to ongoing dialogue with Prospect throughout the restructure. While we note the financial position of NTS, we want to ensure that as a registered charity, NTS treats our members fairly and decently.

“We have several discussions planned in the coming weeks and months, and we hope that NTS can begin to bring clarity to our members as soon as possible. ''
