National secretary Richard Hardy said: "With a budget of £30m the channel represents an investment which will hopefully benefit our members in the BECTU sector in terms of jobs and opportunities and also increase the opportunity for Prospect to take its members' concerns and views about government, defence, telecoms, aviation, heritage and our many other areas to the widest possible audience in Scotland.

"Hopefully  the final determination by Ofcom in June will be positive and the channel can begin broadcasting in autumn."
