Prospect's Education and Children's Services Group will be holding its 2019 professional seminar at the Newcastle Gateshead Marriott Hotel on Friday 22 November.

The guest speakers will include Ian Mearns MP, who sits on the House of Commons Education Select Committee, and Kim Mitchell, assistant director of the Department for Education's Regional Delivery Division North.

This event is a great networking opportunity with fellow education professionals and underlines our commitment as a union to facilitate your Continuous Professional Development. We run this free event for the benefit of our members, so please come to show your support, to meet your fellow members and get inspired to further your career.

11:00: Ian Mearns MPHOC Education Select Committee will discuss the role of the select committee education policy developments and challenges.

12:15: Kim Mitchell, Assistant Director, DfE Regional Delivery Division North will take a look back at the Opportunity North East (ONE) programme one year on from its launch in October 2018.

13:15: Lunch

14:00: Reflections on contributions and the challenges facing educators in the 2020s including the ECSG Biennial report

14:45: Biennial General meeting - including announcement of the new ECS GEC (Members only)

15:00: Closing remarks from the ECSG President
