When it comes to fundraising, we can sometimes question whether we have the ability to take on big challenges.

But Andy has proved that it is never too late to push your boundaries.

Andy was not a particularly competitive sportsperson in his earlier life. But he decided that a change in his pace of life might help with his mental health and well-being.

What started as a hobby, cycling to and from work, quickly developed into an ambition to use his new love of exercise for something even better.

So he decided to take on challenges to raise funds for War Child.

War Child is striving for a world in which no child’s life is torn apart by war.

The charity protects, educates and stands up for the rights of children.

Since 2014, Andy has raised £2,800 for the charity. The challenges included: running the Royal Parks half marathon in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and cycling from London to Amsterdam over four days in September 2017.

His next challenge is the Deloitte ride across Britain. Hundreds of cyclists will start at Land’s End and push themselves to the limit to reach John O’Groats in nine days.

Andy’s drive and determination are truly inspiring and his efforts are making a difference to War Child’s incredibly important work.

£50,000 will provide enough money to refurbish and provide facilities for six schools in Yemen.
