Workers from the Coulport and Faslane naval base will travel to Perth on Wednesday (17 April) to attend an emergency STUC debate on the campaign to stop the transfer of 3,000 workers to the private sector.

Alan Denney, Prospect National Secretary, will move an emergency motion calling on the Government to reverse its decision and criticising its failure to give proper consideration to the alternative trade union plan for the bases. It will be seconded by Mark Serwotka, General Secretary of the Public and Commercial Services union.
