Prospect reponds to HIAL plan to centralise air traffic control

Highlands and Islands Airports run key airports including Stornoway, Inverness and Dundee.

Responding to news that the Highlands and Islands Airports plans to centralise its air traffic control operations David Avery, Prospect negotiations officer said: 

“Prospect and its members have received today a lengthy report from the company on the feasibility of remote towers. We are studying the details of the report and will consult with our members on the next step.

“Prospect is committed to protecting the jobs of air traffic controllers across Scotland and safeguarding the vital lifeline services they provide to some of the remotest parts of Scotland.”
