The TUC’s HeartUnions week is an excellent way to promote the benefits of trade unionism and celebrate the work of unions in communities and workplaces. It is also a great way to continue the work of Prospect’s “I’m worth more than 1%” public pay sector campaign".
You can get involved by:
- sharing the reasons why you love unions and the great work that Prospect does – a poster to print out and use is available here
- sharing your pictures on social media using #heartunions – don’t forget to tag @ProspectUnion too
- sending an ecard to the Chancellor Phillip Hammond urging him to scrap the 1% pay cap for public sector workers
- using this week as an opportunity to share the good work of unions and recruit more members.
Scrap the pay cap
Last year, more than 3,500 Prospect members wrote to their MP urging them to press the Chancellor, Philip Hammond, to scrap the 1% pay cap in the public sector.
We know your campaigning work is having an impact as the government is showing some signs of movement, but we must keep up the pressure.
Can you write to Philip Hammond urging him to scrap the 1% pay cap for all public sector workers and to ensure adequate funding across our public services? Click here to write to the Chancellor.
