Prospect national officer Philippa Childs, commenting on BT's gender pay gap report, said: “Prospect has been integral to reducing the impact of the gender pay gap by negotiating equal pay reviews.
"Trade union recognition has helped BT to work towards the gender pay gap results they have published, which are below the national average.
“However, there is always room for improvement. Women still only make up 25% of BT’s workforce and are underrepresented in technical, engineering roles and senior positions.
“BT has recognised this in its own analysis of the make-up of its workforce and Prospect will continue to press for further diversity and equality in the company.”
