Civil Service Unions Statement on Dignity at Work in the Scottish Public Sector

We are aware of the recent news coverage into allegations surrounding the former First Minister Alex Salmond and his response to those allegations.

It would be improper for us Trades Unions representing members employed across the Scottish Public Sector to comment on these matters.

However we would reiterate our absolute position that all workers have the right to attend their employment free from the fear of harassment, bullying or physical harm, and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at all times. We will support any of our members who face these issues in their workplace

We have requested an urgent meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Scottish Government on this matter

We have strongly recommended to our members not to engage in speculation or comment on social media or any public forum in relation this matter

We will not be making any further statement on this issue at this time
