Prospect hails Fair Work Agreement for Civil Servants in Scottish Government

Prospect and the other civil service unions have reached a ground breaking agreement with the Scottish Government covering employment relations, recognition, facility time, working hours, living wage,  work fulfilment and equality amongst other issues.

Speaking on behalf of Prospect National Secretary Richard Hardy said "We are very very pleased to see that the Scottish Government continues to lead by example on this key workplace issue, this is an incredibly important moment for workers across the Scottish Government, Fair work lies in the power of collective bargaining, the chance for fulfilment and development in your job, and for manageable workloads, job security and equality"

"Our members already now that the Scottish Government is ahead of the game on "Fair Work, but this agreement reinforces that commitment, and sets out a clear ambition, and I'd like to thank both Derek Mackay Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Economy and Fair Work for taking forward this important strand of his ministerial portfolio, I'd also like to thank my colleague Joy Dunn of PCS who drove this forward on behalf of all the Civil Service unions. This is an exemplary agreement and we look forward to other public body employers coming forward to add their name to it, and to continue the campaign to make Scotland a "Fair Work Nation"
