Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone who has a mark, scar or condition that means that they have a visible difference.
Bectu colleagues will be working with the charity in the creative industries to support and raise awareness of Changing Faces in 2020.
The charity is asking organisations to sign up to their ‘Pledge To Be Seen’.
Prospect general secretary Mike Clancy said: “We believe that people who look different should be represented across mainstream culture and to have the freedom to express themselves.
“Prospect is backing the charity’s call for companies and brands to sign up to #PledgeToBeSeen 2020 to represent more people with a visible difference in their campaigns over the next year.
“We are proud to be the first union to sign the pledge.”
By signing up for #PledgeToBeSeen 2020, Prospect will commit to:
- publicly share its commitment to the campaign
- represent more people with a visible difference in campaigns (including advertising, PR and recruitment) in the next 12 months.
How you can help
- share the news about the campaign
- organise awareness raising in your workplace
- volunteer to take part.
